Funeral Services for Harold White, age 79, of Brownwood, will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday May 9, 2011 at the Union Presbyterian Church with the Reverend Mary D. D’Alessio officiating, interment to follow in Greenleaf Cemetery under the direction of Davis Morris Funeral Home. Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Sunday evening at the funeral home. Mr. White passed away Thursday May 5, 2011 in Brownwood.
William Harold White was born on April 24, 1932, in Cleburne, Texas, to Cecil B. White and Esther Mae (Huffman) White. He attended Texas Tech University and received a Bachelor in Industrial Engineering in 1955 and served in the United States Navy from 1955 to 1957. Harold married Sue Guthrie on August 16, 1954 and worked for GTE for 29 years. He was a member of the Downtown Lions Club, Pioneer GTE Retirement Club, Antique Automobile Club of America, and the Heart of Texas Antique Automobile Club. Harold was also an active member Union Presbyterian Church of Brownwood where he served as both Deacon and Elder.
He is survived by his wife, Sue White of Brownwood; two daughters, Dorothy Lundy and husband David of Brownwood, and Sarah Kattapong and husband Paul of Houston, Tx; four granddaughters, Chrissy Lundy-Blumer and husband Nick of Houston, Jessica Lundy of Brownwood, Kim Kattapong of Houston, and Lauren Kattapong of Houston.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Raymond and Edward White; and a daughter, Susan Marie White.
