Good Samaritan Ministries would like to say a special thank you to those who organized and donated for this year’s Hands on a House food drive at the Brownwood Reunion Celebration.

During the Brownwood Reunion Celebration, local schools, contestants, sponsors of the event and spectators donated cans of food to benefit the food pantries at Good Samaritan Ministries and St. John’s Food Bank.  Overall, the event raised a total of 10,979 canned goods which were split between the two organizations.

According to program manager Misty Bowers, GSM’s portion of the food weighed in at 3,700 pounds.   All of the food donated will stay right here to help families in need in Brown County, and the need is growing every year.
