LongphotoFuneral Services for Guinn Walter Long, age 81, of Brownwood, will be held Sunday July 24, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. at Davis-Morris Funeral Home Chapel with James Ervin officiating, interment to follow at Eastlawn Memorial Park. Visitation will be held from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Saturday evening at Davis-Morris Funeral Home. He passed away Thursday July 21, 2011 at his home after a lengthy illness. Guinn was born on October 25, 1929 in Kent County, Texas to Walter Clifford Long and Vennie Golden (Jackson) Long. Guinn grew up in Kent County, and graduated from Girard High School, in Girard, Texas in 1948.

He married Bobbie Lea (Smith) Long on December 06, 1948 at Cheyenne, Wyoming; where he was stationed in the Air Force. He served a total of 5 ½ years in that branch of the service. He was stationed with a radar unit in Germany for two years during the Korean conflict. He began working for Nissan Motor Corp. in 1971. He served as Port Manager for Nissan in Seattle, WA until he retired on August 31, 1987. Two years later the family moved to Brownwood, TX where they have resided up to the present time. Guinn was a loving father, husband, and grandfather.  He was a Mason for over 50 years. His favorite hobby was playing golf.

Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Bobbie Lea Long; a daughter, Pamela Kay Roberson and husband Preston Lee Roberson of Brownwood, TX ; a son, David Brent Long and wife Donna Kay Long of Whitesboro, TX; two grandchildren, Jeremy Roberson, and Amanda Evans; four sisters, Pauline Collins of Clovis, NM; Peggy Spicer of Ft. Worth, TX; Janice Sue Harrison of Jayton, TX; and Nora Lea Cooper of Brownwood, TX; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Guinn was preceded in death by his parents, Cliff and Goldie Long.
