Students at Victory Life Academy recently celebrated Dr. Seuss’s birthday, March 2nd. Several special guests read to Pre-Kindergarten, first and second grade classes throughout the week and more are scheduled for this week.
Texas State Representative Susan King, Brownwood Mayor Stephen Haynes, Texas Senatorial candidate Jon Cobb, Brown County Constable David Hefner, Ranger College Dean of Students Carolyn Zapata are several of the special guests who read to the students.
Theodor Seuss Geisel (March 2, 1904 – September 24, 1991) was an American writer and illustrator best known for authoring popular children’s books under the pen name Dr. Seuss. His books were some of the most popular children’s books of all time, selling over 600 million copies in more than 20 languages by his death at 87 in September of 1991. A few of his most famous books were The Cat in the Hat (1957), How the Grinch Stole Christmas! (1957), and Green Eggs and Ham (1960). He published over 60 books during his career, some of which became movies, Broadway musicals, televisions specials and even television series.
