Guadalupe Castillo, 71, passed away on February 10, 2020.  Guadalupe was born on June 3, 1948 in Guerrero Coahuila, Mexico to Jesus Castillo and Julia Vela Castillo.  He then married Maria Elida Castillo on August 3, 1969 and they began life together that blessed them with four children.  He liked to fish, to dance, music and making things for his livestock.

His children are daughter Sonia Sandoval from Brownwood; daughter Julia Hernandez and husband Miguel from Crowley, Texas; son Raul Castillo from Brownwood and his late son Lance Corporal Mario A. Castillo.

His grandkids are Areli Sandoval and husband Jesse Jauregui III.; Alexis Sandoval; Edith Rodriguez; Antonio Rodriguez; Angel Castillo and wife Ally Hamilton and great grandkids Alessandreo Sandoval, Jesse Jauregui IV and Scarlett Castillo.

Guadalupe’s siblings are his sister Maria Castaneda and husband Guadalupe from Brownwood; brother Armando Castillo widower from Brownwood; brother Ramiro Castillo and wife Juany from Brownwood; and sister Irene Garza and husband Jesse Leos from Villia Union, Coahuila, Mexico.

He worked 20 years for Brownwood ISD with the coaches washing football uniforms, keeping the field picked up and the kids called him “Coach Lupe” or the “Lion Truck Man.”

The family will receive guests at Davis-Morris Funeral home on Sunday from 3-4 pm, followed by a Rosary at 4 pm.
