It’s time for the annual March Against Hunger: Feinstein Challenge at Good Samaritan Ministries. During the months of March and April, every monetary donation designated for food and every canned good brought in counts toward the Feinstein Challenge.
Alan Shawn Feinstein puts up $1 million of his own money each year to serve as a challenge to food pantries across the country to raise funds and awareness of hunger. The more money GSM raises during March and April, the greater portion of the Feinstein money we are eligible to receive. Last year, with the help of the community, GSM raised $129,000. This year, the goal is $140,000! Every canned good brought in counts as $1 toward the challenge.
Please consider holding food drives or fund drives for the food ministries of GSM: the food pantry, Food for Thought program and The Deer Project. For every $1 donated, GSM can purchase about six pounds of food.
