King’s Point Cove held a ground breaking ceremony on Saturday for the future home of “the Lodge,” Hideout Golf Club and King’s Point Cove Clubhouse.
With the luxury of a resort, and the comfort of a cabin, “The Lodge” will feature an outdoor pool for the warm summer days overlooking the rolling fairway and putting greens. The outdoor rock fireplace and steamy hot tub are included in the design of the building for the colder weather.
Former Dallas Cowboy and NFL Hall of Famer Bob Lilly was on hand to sign autographs. A barbeque lunch was served and a longest drive contest was held to celebrate the event. Activities for children included a jump house, pumpkin carving, face painting and balloon animals.
Brownwood Mayor Stephen Haynes was on hand and expressed his excitement for the project and for the city of Brownwood to have this facility being built in the area.
The estimated cost of the project is $3 million including the clubhouse, pool and outdoor areas according to Jim Thurston with DFC Texas Land.
