2011GrandMarshalls

Organizers for the Brownwood Reunion Celebration announced today that Weldon Wilson and Joyce Leidig will be the 2011 grand marshals for this year’s grand parade.

Wilson has contributed valuable time and resources to the Brownwood Reunion since its inception in 2000.  Without his help, the Reunion would not be what it is today.

Leidig has been involved in the community through the Military & Family Support Group and is always the first one to volunteer to support any member of the military or their families.

The parade will take place Saturday, September 17th at 10am with line-up starting at 8:45am in the Bank of America parking lot in Downtown Brownwood.   Entry forms for the parade are available at the Brownwood Area Chamber of Commerce at 600 E. Depot Street or online at CelebrateBrownwood.com.

This year’s parade is sponsored and organized by Southside Church and will be televised on KTXS.

The 11th annual Brownwood Reunion Celebration is a community-wide celebration featuring shows, competitions, arenas, music, food, vendors, and much more.   Thousands of visitors and residents attend the celebration each year taking place down Carnegie Street and side-streets from the Brownwood Coliseum to the Depot Civic and Cultural Center.   Thousands of volunteers help coordinate the event each year.
