Graveside Services for Grady H. Thompson, age 87, of Brownwood will be held at 2:00 pm Thursday March 24, 2011 at Eastlawn Memorial Park with Bill Slaymaker officiating, interment to follow under the direction of Davis Morris Funeral Home.
Mr. Thompson died Monday March 21, 2011 at Brownwood Regional Medical Center.
He was born May 12, 1923 in May, Texas to Herman Stuart and Emma (Gilliam) Thompson. He married Dortha Harp on May 27, 1946 in Brownwood and worked for Texas Farm Productions in Nacogdoches for 15 years. They then moved to Brownwood and owned and operated Gulf Oil Distributor for 11 years before retiring. Grady was a veteran, serving in the U.S. Air Force as a B-17 Pilot flying 26 missions during WWII.
He is survived by his wife, Dortha Harp Thompson of Brownwood; along with many other family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents; parents; a sister, Billie Ruth Thompson Riley; and two brothers, Charles R. Thompson and J. Wiley Thompson; and a niece, Dana Lason DeHay.
