Good Samaritan Ministries along with donors Big Country Ford and Hawk Hill Sales presented raffle winner Forrest Snyder of Brownwood the keys to his new Massimo UTV on Tuesday afternoon at Big Country Ford.
Snyder is a Brownwood resident who, along with his wife Marianna, volunteers their time in the Good Samaritan Ministries food pantry. Snyder has also served as a past GSM board member. Snyder’s name was drawn at noon on Saturday, September 28th, at Big Country Ford by Good Samaritan Ministries Executive Director Angelia Bostick.When asked how many he had bought, Snyder stated that he had bought about $100 worth of raffle tickets. He and his wife both stated that the UTV will come in handy when they are out on their land.
Tickets were sold for just $10 each and available at several businesses locally, through member sales and at this year’s Brownwood Reunion Celebration. The all proceeds benefit the Deer Project, which is a program that allows hunters to donate legally tagged deer to Good Samaritan Ministries to feed hungry families in Brown County. Local processors process donated deer for the minimal price of one dollar per pound of venison for the Deer Project.
According to Good Samaritan Ministries Executive Director Angelia Bostick, proceeds from the raffle were the largest at a final total of over $16,000.
