During the month of December the Good Samaritan Ministries will be extending their regular business hours to accommodate the increased number of families and the limited number of work days during this month.
From December 1st through December 23rd, GSM will be open on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays from 9:00 am to 2:00 pm and on Wednesdays from 1:00pm to 6:00pm. The Food Pantry, Clothing Store and offices will close December 24 through January 2 to allow staff and volunteers time to spend with their family during the holidays. For more information, visit goodsambwd.org or call 643-2273.
Good Samaritan Ministries will be passing out Christmas boxes to local families who need a little extra help during the holidays. Boxes are filled with most of the ingredients needed to make a traditional Christmas dinner. A donation of $35 provides a box for one family.
Monetary donations may be made at 305 Clark Street, mail to P.O. Box 1136 or via PayPal online at goodsambwd.org.
Donation boxes are also located at various businesses around town for donations of non-perishable food items such as canned pumpkin, sweet potatoes, cranberry sauce, cake mixes, frosting, sweet peas and chicken broth. The following businesses have boxes for you to drop off your food donations: American State Bank in Early, Bank of America, Brownwood City Hall, Brownwood Police Department, Citizens National Bank, Coggin Avenue Medical Park, Davis Morris Funeral Home, McCoy’s, Mills County State Bank and Texas Bank.
