Written by Amanda Coers – Employees of Good Samaritan Ministries delivered three bikes and several toys to Wendlee Broadcasting today in honor of Brian Wade. Also donated in Wade’s honor was a gift to Samaritan’s Purse for 15 blankets for children in impoverished areas globally. The bikes, toys, and Samaritan’s Purse donation were all purchased by the Good Samaritan employees personally, separate from the ministry’s work to feed the hungry in Brown County through generous donations from the community.

Several toys have been brought to Wendlee Broadcasting in honor of Wade, and much more is expected to be donated before Christmas.

“We’ve already had so much come in, much more than the previous year,” said Rex Tackett, General Manager of Wendlee Broadcasting. “I know there will be a lot more at the toy drive.”

Wade is remembered to have loved working with kids, and was instrumental in starting the annual Toys for Kids radio station toy drives. The Wade family has requested toy donations be made to Toys for Kids, to honor his work in the community. Toys can be dropped off at Wendlee Broadcasting, 600 Fisk, in downtown Brownwood, as well as several location in Brownwood and Early, including: Caldwell Banker offices, Car Corral, Countryside Therapy, the Heartland Association of Realtors, the Rage Salon, Early City Hall, Section Hand Steakhouse, Prosperity Bank, Willie’s T’s, Apollo Computers, Brady Health Care Services, Lone Star Home and Loan, the Runaway Train Cafe, KG Dance Studio, Bob’s Fuels, the Brownwood Fire Department, Jacob’s Pharmacy, and Anytime Fitness.
