Last fall, the Ranger College women’s cross country team was among the best in the North Central Texas Junior College Athletic Conference. And, among the smartest.
Ranger College had two members of its 2015 cross country team recognized by the National Junior College Athletics Association last month for the prowess in the classroom. Ana Gonzalez and Chelsea Johnston were both honored by the NJCAA’s governing body for academic success.
Gonzalez, a native of New Caney, Texas, was among a group of cross country runners from throughout the nation honored on the NJCAA’s Superior Academic Achievement roll. Johnston, who is from Early, Texas, was named to the Exemplary Academic Achievement roll.
Gonzalez and Johnston, both 2-year members of the RC varsity squad, graduated from Ranger College with Associate degrees in May.Pictured left is Ana Gonzalez, in her cap and gown at graduation services in May.
