Coggin Elementary recognized “Go Blue Day” on April 7, in honor of Child Abuse Prevention Month. Students wore blue and an assembly was held outside, where students learned about Go Blue Day.
Principal Todd Lewis and Counselor Donna Swanger talked to the students about how to avoid violent situations and how to tell someone if they or their friends were being harmed. Every student and staff member then tied a blue ribbon to the fence around the playground. The ribbons fluttered in the breeze as a silent tribute to abused children.
