Gloria Ann Poe, 66, of Blanket, went to be with her lord on Tuesday, June 20, 2017 at Hendrick Medical Center in Abilene. A Graveside Service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, June 24, 2017, at the Blanket Cemetery. Family will receive friends from 6 to 7 p.m. Friday, June 23, 2017, at the Brownwood Funeral Home, located at 2512 Belle Plain.
Gloria was born March 24, 1951, in Brownwood, Texas, to Raymond and Margaret Ramoz. Gloria received her education from Blanket Schools, graduating in 1971. Gloria met and married the love of her life, Jim Poe on July 6, 1972. They were life long residents of Blanket. Over 30 years ago, Gloria became a member of the Milton Avenue Baptist Church. Being the Christian woman she was, Gloria loved her family, but even more so she loved God. Church and God was her number one priority. She absolutely loved Bible study, Vacation bible School, and working with the Children in the church.
Left to cherish her memories are husband of 44 years Jimmy Poe of Blanket; mother, Margaret Ramoz of Copperas Cove, Texas; son, Cecil Poe (Brenda) of Huntsville, Texas; daughter, Monica Brooks (David) of Blanket; sister, Sylvia Seward (David) of Brownwood; grandchildren, Valarie Flanagan, Nova Poe, Alex Poe, and Daniel Poe; and great-grandchildren, Molli and Andi Flanagan; as well as her Milton Avenue Baptist Church family, extended family and many friends.
Gloria was preceded in death by sister, Ninfa Harper, and father, Raymond Ramoz.
