The world famous Harlem Globetrotters dazzled and entertained the crowd Tuesday night as they brought their “You Write the Rules” World Tour to the Brownwood Coliseum.  Over 2000 attendees were entertained by not only their basketball skills, but their antics and audience interaction.

The Globetrotters played an exhibition game against the Global Select where fans added rules to the game through online voting such as the 4-point shot and double points.  Fans that purchased a “Magic Pass” were able to shoot some hoops and perform tricks along with the players before the game.

Brownwood Cub Scout Pack 14 presented the colors before the game and the Howard Payne University softball team helped work the gate for the event.   It has been 9 years since the Globetrotters last played in Brownwood.

The team will play over 270 games in nearly 240 cities in 45 states and nine Canadian provinces though April 2013.

The Original Harlem Globetrotters will celebrate their 87th consecutive year in 2013, continuing a world famous tradition of ball handling wizardry, basketball artistry and one-of-a-kind family entertainment that continues to thrill fans of all ages. Throughout their history, the Globetrotters have showcased their iconic talents in 120 countries and territories on six continents, often breaking down cultural and societal barriers while providing fans with their first-ever basketball experience. Proud inductees of the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame, the Globetrotters have entertained hundreds of millions of fans—among them popes, kings, queens, and presidents—over more than eight thrilling decades.
