Gladyce Spurlock Rasberry, 89, passed away Sunday, April 24, 2011 in Fort Worth. She was born July 27, 1921 in Zephyr.
She graduated from May High School in 1938. Gladyce was a homemaker and worked at Brownwood Manufacturing for several years. She was a Brown County resident for 86 years before moving to Ft. Worth in 2007 to be closer to her children. She was a member of the Early Church of Christ for 50 years and the Lakewood Village Church of Christ in Ft. Worth for the past three and a half years.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Stewart (Red) Rasberry. She was also preceded in death by her parents, Doyl and Lorena Belvin Spurlock and two brothers, John Doyl Spurlock and Billy Jack Spurlock.
She is survived by her children, Floyd and Selena Rasberry of Augusta GA, Benny Rasberry of Hurst, Jo and Bill Shive of Lubbock, Judy and David Dennis of Bedford, Jan Royall of Euless, and Joy and Michael Taylor of San Diego, CA. Other survivors include six grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, sister and brother-in-law, Voncille and Lonneal Guthrie of Stephenville, brother and sister-in-law, Charles and Joyce Spurlock of Grand Saline, and Brother Belvin Spurlock of Austin, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 27 at Davis-Morris Funeral Home with internment to follow at Eastlawn Memorial Park. Visitation will be at Davis-Morris on Tuesday, April 26 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to Early Church of Christ, American Kidney Foundation, or American Diabetes Association.
