The Girl Scouts of Central Texas celebrate women who have distinguished themselves as outstanding members of their community through individual excellence and high levels of achievement.
Past recipients have included women honored for excellence in the areas of business, education, government, communications, health care, sports, volunteer services, multicultural activities, and Girl Scouting. The Girl Scouts look for women who are role models for their members, girls and adults alike, showing them that with hard work and perseverance, anything can be accomplished.
To honor 2010 Women of Distinction, the Girl Scouts of Central Texas will host the Women of Distinction Luncheon for the Brownwood area on March 31, 2010. The event honors women in Brown, Coleman, Comanche, Erath, Hamilton, Lampasas, McCulloch, Mills and San Saba Counties. Honorees are chosen for their contributions to the community, including philanthropic, civic and professional efforts, and their ability to be role models for Girl Scouts.
The 2010 Women of Distinction for the Brownwood area are Sandra Tucker of Bangs, LaVoy Chambers of May, Glenda Lemke of Brownwood, Wanda Thacker Martin of Brownwood, and Judith Ozuna of Brownwood.
