Funeral services for Gerald T. Grinstead, age 76, of Brownwood, Texas will be held 11:00 AM, Thursday, March 5, 2015 at the Heartland Funeral Home Chapel in Early with Father Roger Matthews officiating. Interment will follow in the Winchell Cemetery. Mr. Grinstead passed away Tuesday, March 3, 2015 in Brownwood.
Gerald was born June 9, 1938 in Brownwood, Texas to Thomas Ercil and Mamie Elizabeth Kelly Grinstead. On, March 6, 1959 he married Monette Maedgen in Brownwood. Gerald was a graduate of Brownwood High School and a 1968 graduate of Texas A & M University where he earned a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Agriculture and Biology. He retired from the Texas Youth Commission in 2013. Gerald was an avid Aggie and enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, drawing and riding horses.He is survived by his daughter Monelle Manley and husband Tim; a sister Maud Singleton; two grandchildren Teneal Hill and husband Landon, Trent Manley and wife Krista and a great-granddaughter Paisley Hill. He was preceded in death by his wife Monette Grinsted; his parents; three sisters Frances Adams, Joann Fallin and Betty Adams.
