BrewerGeorgiaGeorgia Ethyl Gwathmey Brewer passed away in San Antonio, TX on November 3rd, 2010.  She was 94 years old.  A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 20th at Clear Creek Cemetery.  Davis-Morris Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Ms. Brewer was the youngest child of James Albert and Ethyl Reed Gwathmey.  She was born in Brown County, TX on March 28th, 1916.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her brothers and sisters, Neil and Loyal Gwathmey, Enid Jennings, Vivian Whitehead, Loyce Wheeler and Jimmie Allen.

She is survived by four nephews and nieces, Joe Gwathmey of San Antonio, Lee Gwathmey of Brownwood,  Linda Smith of Mesquite, and Donna Peck of Brownwood; and several great and great-great nephews and nieces.

Ms. Brewer married and subsequently divorced Denver Brewer.

She worked at the Port of New Orleans during World War II.  Following the war, she relocated to Los Angeles, CA, where she worked for a metals manufacturing company.  She retired from her position as front office manager at the age of 82.  She returned to Texas in 2000 and took up residence in San Antonio.  In retirement she enjoyed sing-alongs, playing bingo and reading.  Nothing made her happier than a good book, a good chair and good reading light.
