ThompsonGeorgeGeorge William Thompson, Jr. passed from this life December 19, 2014. George was born in Galveston, Texas, on November 7, 1938 to George W. Thompson, Sr. and Ethel Mae McClung.. He was married to Peggy Morgan Thompson.

Mr. Thompson was a veteran of the United States Army where he served as a Military Policeman. George continued his law enforcement career and served on the Houston Police Department, the Spring Valley Police Department, Harris Co. Sherriff’s Office and the Midland Co. Sherriff’s Office. George was a member of the Masonic Lodge and a 32nd degree Mason.

George is preceded in death by his parents and son-in-law, Clyde Hicks, Jr. He is survived by his wife, Peggy, brother, Johnny H. Thompson and his wife Pamela, of Midland, TX, sons Shane Thompson of Lake Dallas, Dustin Thompson of Brownwood, daughters, Kim Hicks of Spurger, TX and Dawn Coward and husband Kevin, of Lovelady, TX., as well as and daughter-in-law Diana Thompson of Brownwood, TX, 8 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held Monday, December 22, 2014 at Davis-Morris Funeral Home.
