George Allen Bessent, 79, of Sidney, passed away Friday September 11, 2015 in Comanche.
Graveside services, under the direction of Heartland Funeral Home of Comanche, will be held 10:00 a.m. Wednesday at the Cox Cemetery in Sidney. The family will receive friends 6:00-8:00 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. George was born June 5, 1936, in San Saba, Texas, to Townsend and Jo (Scaggs) Bessent.
He is survived by his wife Jo Bessent; son George Allen Bessent, Jr.; daughters, Vicki Brawley and Tammy Godfrey; 7 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, 3 sisters, and 1 brother. He was preceded in death by both parents.
