Graveside Services for Genevieve Joiner, age 94, of Brownwood, will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday October 24, 2010 at the Greenleaf Cemetery with Dick Williams officiating, interment to follow under the direction of Davis Morris Funeral Home. Visitation will be held from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Saturday evening at the funeral home. Mrs. Joiner passed away Thursday evening at a local nursing home.
Genevieve was born on November 2, 1915 in Ohio to the Samuel and Elizabeth “Libby” (Martin) Miller.
She married W.A. “Wilburn” Joiner in Brownwood in 1950 and she worked for area dry cleaners for many years. Genevieve was an active member of the Church of the Nazarene where she especially loved working with the children.
She is survived by her daughter Deanna Byer of Brownwood; son, Curtis Manning and wife Dorothy of Brownwood; 14 grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews and other family.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Wilburn Joiner; sons, James and Donald Manning, and son Gary Joiner; along with three sisters, Georgia, Mary, and Violet.
