Geneva Alice Seago, age 94, of Brownwood passed away Sunday, March 1, at Oak Ridge Manor.

She was born April 16, 1925 in Coryell County, Texas the daughter of Van Aubry Cathey and Jewell Ada Byler Cathey.  She had been a resident of Brownwood since 1938.  She was married to Melvin Carrell Seago on April 17, 1970 who preceded her in death on December 22, 1992.  She was a faithful housewife and attended the Primitive Baptist Church.

She is survived by two daughters, Mary Lou Hudman of Dallas and Carol Bogdan of Renton, Washington, a sister, Ewvone Strawn of Moses Lake, Washington, grandchildren, Michelle Krieg of San Angelo, Susen McCleery-Derrick of Dallas, John Paul Hudman of Dallas, seven great-grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren.  Also surviving are nieces Rose Mary Harris of Brownwoood, Glenda Ritcheson of  Renton, Washington, and Donna Kay Haskins of Moses Lake, Washington and a nephew Jeffrey Strawn of Moses Lake, Washington, a great-niece, Robin Martin of Brownwood, and cousins, Wilma Jean Langpaul of Goldthwaite, Juanita Sypert of Helena, Montana, Diane Duffield of Helena, Montana,

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Melvin, a son, Howard (Buddy) Hurst, a brother, Myles Cathey, her sister and brother-in-law, Nettie Mae and Allen Hodges, her son-in-law, John Bogdan, her brother-in-law, Merle Strawn, nephew Steve Strawn, aunt, Beatrice Sypert, and uncle, Lloyd Cathey.

A private graveside service will be held Friday, March 6, at Mt. Olive Cemetery in Mills County with burial to follow under the direction of Davis-Morris Funeral Home.
