AZLE — Gene Cantwell, 69, passed away Thursday, Sept. 27, 2012.
Funeral: 1 p.m. Tuesday at Westworth Church of Christ. Interment: Greenwood Memorial Park. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Greenwood Funeral Home.
Memorials: In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of choice.
Gene was born May 26, 1943, in Brownwood. On May 15, 1965, he married his best friend, Norma Doggett. They were blessed with 47 wonderful years together. In 1965 Gene went to work at Bell Helicopter. He held various positions through the years and retired in 2004.
When he wasn’t fighting cancer, which started in October 2004, he was spending time on his farm in Brown County. He was raised in the Church of Christ and was a faithful member until his death.
Gene was preceded in death by his parents, Otwell and Bernice Cantwell; and one sister, Deborah Alfrey.
Survivors: Wife, Norma Cantwell; sister, Belva Swanner; and numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, extended family members and friends.
