She married Eddie Joe Flippin on December 18, 1959. Upon graduating from high school, she went to join him in Germany where he was stationed in the army.

Gail lived most of her married life in Pioneer—between Cross Plains and Rising Star. She was a member of the Eastern Star, having served as past worthy matron and a star point at every station.

She was a Baptist and an active member at Southside Baptist Church in Brownwood. She was a Sunday School teacher, Vacation Bible School teacher, Women’s Missionary Union member, and a volunteer in many other church ministries.

She retired from 3M in 1999. She was a member of the Brownwood Garden Club, volunteered at the Pregnancy Care Center, and was a pink lady at Brownwood Regional Medical Center. She also taught Bible study classes for the Christian Women’s Job Corps.

She is survived by three children and their families—son Dr. Tancrede (Tan) Wayman Flippin and wife Janet of Denison; son Tye A Flippin of Coleman; and daughter Tamara Kay Flippin Alexander and husband Justin of Roscoe. She also had five grandchildren: Drew Flippin and Erin Flippin of Memphis, Tennessee; Mason Flippin of Brownwood; and Jaci Alexander and Jaden Alexander of Roscoe. She is also survived by one sister, Janice Rutledge Moore of Brownwood.
