Brownwood News – There are several events and fundraisers taking place around the area this weekend.
The Early Church of Christ Youth will host Christmas Shopping Saturday, October 5, from 9:00 am until 2:00 pm at the Fellowship Hall of the church. Vendors will have gifts and ideas for everyone on your list. A bake sale will also be held. Proceeds will support the church youth for scholarships for camp and LTC.
The Bangs Volunteer Fire Department will host a brisket dinner fundraiser Saturday, October 5, from 4:30 pm to 7:00 pm at the fire station. Plates will include brisket, drink, all the fixins and dessert for $10.
Coleman’s annual Fiesta de la Paloma is from 10:00 am until 11:00 pm Saturday, October 5, downtown Coleman. There will be vendors, games, cook-offs, live musical entertainment during the day with two bands playing a street dance from 6:00 pm until 11:00 pm. The Outlanders play blues and rock from 6 to 8. Bob Ray and the Hall of Fame band, featuring Bobby Flores, will perform a variety of country music from 8 to 11. There will be a break for a free fireworks show during the street dance.
The 35th Annual Fall Fest at Central United Methodist Church in Brownwood is Saturday, October 5, from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm. There will be arts and crafts, canned goods and jellies and many baked goods. Back by popular demand, frozen casseroles. A hamburger lunch will be served from 10:30 am to 1:00 pm. Central United Methodist Church is located at the Corner of 2nd Street and Avenue G.
The Richland Springs Volunteer Fire Department annual All You Can Eat Fish Fry and Cake Auction is Saturday, October 5, at the Richland Springs Fire House. Serving starts at 6:00 pm. Donations only.
The Richland Springs Class of 2020 will sponsor a Chicken Dinner at noon Sunday, October 6, at the Richland Springs School Cafeteria. The meal is by donation. Proceeds will go to scholarships.
The 6th Annual Mullin FFA Pig Sale is Sunday, October 6, at Mullin ISD. Judging is at 10:00 am, lunch at 12:00 pm and the sale begins at 1:00 pm.
