Independence Healthcare LLC will be hosting the first Start the Year Healthy Conference, a free health fair for the residents of Brown County in two locations; Texas Bank in Bangs (8am-noon), and the Adams Street Community Center in Brownwood (3pm-7pm) both on December 30th.
This year, the theme is “New Year, New You”, aimed at assisting residents of Brown County to follow through with their healthy New Year’s resolutions. Several programs will be offered to help residents including: cholesterol testing, blood pressure checkups, diabetes testing, diet/exercise screening
, nicotine and smoking cessation programs, drug/alcohol use cessation programs and treatment, mental health screenings, and anger management programs.
Representatives will also be available to assist residence to find resources for affordable healthcare for those who are uninsured or underinsured. There will also be a raffle with prizes sponsored by local businesses at the health fair.
