Frank Larry Robinson, 71, passed away Tuesday, June 4, 2013, at Regency Hospital in Fort Worth. A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday in Eastlawn Cemetery, 1921 Early Boulevard, Early, Texas, directed by Abilene Funeral Home. The family will receive friends at a visitation from 5:30 until 8 p.m. Friday at Abilene Funeral Home, 3349 North 12th Street.
Larry, son of the late Frank E. Robinson and the former Mamie Glen Loyd, was born June 14, 1941, in Brownwood. As a youth, Larry was baptized as a member at Brownwood’s First Baptist Church. He was a 1959 graduate of Brownwood High School and attended Tarlton State University in Stephenville.
Larry was married to Peggy Patrick in 1961. They had three children, Kelly, Jett and Stacy. The family moved to Cisco, Texas, in 1968, then to Breckenridge in 1970.
Larry, as known to friends and family, was a State Farm Insurance agent while living in Cisco; worked for Frito-Lay in the Breckenridge area; and worked many years as a truck driver for Merchant’s Motor Lines in Abilene. In retirement, Larry worked for Reeder’s Auto Supply in Abilene.
Larry served his country as a six-year veteran of the Texas National Guard and was a longtime member of the Masonic Lodge and Rotary Club.
Survivors include two daughters, Kelly Grissom of Breckenridge and Stacy Robinson of Abilene; a son, Jett Robinson of Abilene; a sister, Pat Galloway and brother-in-law, Carl Galloway of Austin; two grandchildren, Kendra Grissom of Stephenville and Asher Robinson of Abilene; two nephews, James and John Galloway of Austin; cousins, Charles Richardson and wife Karin of Abilene, Timothy Richardson and wife, Carla of Springtown, Texas, Zachary Richardson and wife Maria of Knoxville, Tenn., Mary Jewel Loyd Moore Chambers of Brownwood, Violet Ingram and Bill Wilson, both of Brownwood.
