EscobedoFrank Escobedo, 67, of Early formerly of Brownwood passed away April 2, 2014 at Abilene Regional Medical Center after a short illness. Visitation for Mr. Escobedo will be held Sunday April 6, 2014, 6 pm to 8 pm at Davis-Morris Funeral Home.  A celebration of his life will be held Monday, April 7, 2014, 11:30 am at Davis-Morris. Interment with Military Honors will be held at Greenleaf Cemetery immediately following the chapel service.

Frank Escobedo was born June 10, 1946 in Piedras Negras, Coahuila, Mexico. He came to the United States with his father Marion Tommy Parson and mother Soledad Escobedo Parson and lived the rest of his life in Brownwood. Frank became a citizen of his adopted country together with his mother.

Frank was married to Maria Adame in 1975 in Brownwood. He cherished her and respected her very much.  Left to cherish his memory are his wife,  and two sons, Pablo Guillermo Adame and Frankie Escobedo; two siblings, Julieta DeLuna of Eagle Pass, Texas, Tommy Parson and his wife Jerita of Brownwood.  He is also survived by his grandchildren, Paige, Aaliyah, Isabell, Azreal and Haylie, as well as a number of nieces, nephews and treasured friends.

Frank attended schools in Brownwood from the fourth grade on, graduating from Brownwood High School. After High School he attended Howard Payne College for one and one half years before being called into active duty in the U.S. Marine Corps.  He was a Vietnam Veteran.  He served with the 5th Marine Division, 3rd Battalion. He was a machine gunner upon completion of basic training and then volunteered to become a mortar operator. Upon completion of his tour of duty in Vietnam LCpl Escobedo re-entered Howard Payne College to continue his education. He earned 4 medals while in Vietnam, the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Vietnamese Service Medal with distinction, Presidential Unit Citation and more importantly the respect of the men he fought with. The Marine Corps was a source of great pride for him. He was a Marine until the day of his passing. Semper Fi, Always Faithful exemplified his life.

Frank dearly loved his grandchildren; they were the focus of his life. He had some very special lifelong friends that he also cherished and would want them to know that he is grateful for being in his life.

Frank is preceded in death by his parents, Marion Tommy Parson, Soledad Escobedo Parson, his brother Jesus Nolasco Escobedo, and his brother-in-law, Rodolfo De Luna.
