Frances Mildred Carroll passed into Perfect Peace on Tuesday, November 14 at 12:15 PM at the age of 100 years and four weeks. She was born October 17, 1917 to George Edward and Annie Rachael Boynton at the Gap in Comanche County north of Blanket, Texas. In 1932 Frances and her family moved to the Fairview Community north of Comanche. She was saved and joined the Brysonville Baptist Church but later, along with her family became members of the Mount Pleasant Baptist Church.
On August 30, 1939 Frances married Bill Carroll. When Bill surrendered to become a minister, Frances surrendered to serve along with him. She did this until his passing in April, 1979.
For many years Frances was a member and worker at Avenue D Baptist Church. For the past three and half years she was a member at Coggin Avenue Baptist Church. In her younger years Frances loved to garden and can her homegrown fruits and vegetables. For as long as her eyesight allowed she was an accomplished seamstress.
Frances is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Billie Frances and Alwyn Clausen of Brownwood, their daughter Amanda Potter and her three beautiful daughters Christa, Kaylee, and Chloe of Abilene, and son Jason Tomlinson of Baird. She is also survived by sisters Modelle Townsend of Oak Ridge Manor in Brownwood and Jessie Lee Day of Austin and nieces Barbara Tate of Jacksonville, TX and Kris Donnely of Austin, TX and nephew Victor Williford of Alamogordo, NM. She is also survived by numerous other nieces and nephews and very special extended family members Steve and Margaret Clausen of Sonoma, CA.
She was preceded in death by her parents, G. E. and Rachael Boynton, her husband Bill Carroll, her youngest sister Nettie Williford, and niece Jo Dell Townsend.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 18 at 2:00 PM at the Heartland Funeral Home Chapel. Visitation will be from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM on Saturday at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Eastlawn Memorial Park.
