Frances Christine Kemp, age 82, of Brownwood passed away Sunday, March 10, 2013, in the Brownwood Regional Medical Center.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Heartland Funeral Home Chapel, with cremation to follow. Visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
She was born Dec. 16, 1930, in Goree, Texas, the daughter of the late Harvey and Ina Mrytle Litchlieter Linn. She was married to James Steve Kemp at Hale Center in August of 1951. She was a member of the Coggin Avenue Baptist Church where she was a member of the Lifeliners line dance group. She volunteered at South Elementary for many years. She was an avid quilter and made and donated many quilts for needy infants. She also loved to cook, especially the Thanksgiving meal for her family.
She is survived by her two daughters, Jill Kemp Pankey and husband Dr. Robert Pakey of San Marcos and Lynn Humeniuk and husband Dan of Brownwood; grandchildren, Wendi Martin, Allie Thomas, Kylie Campbell, Ben Pankey, Matthew Kemp, Michael Kemp, Ben Humeniuk and wife Christian and Steve Humeniuk and Sam Humeniuk; three great-grandchildren; brother, Jack Linn of New Boston; sister, Eunice Brock of Houston; sister-in-law and best friend, Dean Lawler and husband Ted of Brownwood; and numerous nieces and nephews.
