Frances G. Bastardo, beloved mother and grandmother, peacefully went to be with her Lord on April 30, 2011, at Brownwood Regional Medical Center.  Frances left her earthly life with her family and loved ones by her side.  Funeral services will be held at 2:30pm, Tuesday, May 3, 2011 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Brownwood.  Burial will follow in Greenleaf Cemetery.  Visitation is scheduled for 6:00pm until 8:00pm, Monday, May 2, 2011, at Davis-Morris Funeral Home, with a rosary beginning at 7:00pm.

Frances was born on August 6, 1925 in Brownsville, Texas.  She married Pedro G. Bastardo on August 22, 1942, in Brownwood, Texas.  Frances was a loving housewife and mother who always put her family and Lord first in her life.  She loved plants and will always be remembered for her green thumb.  She has been a resident of Brown County since 1942 and was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, St. Mary’s Altar Society, The Guadalupanos, and a Cursillista.

Frances is survived by her children; Mary and Roger Rodriguez, Delia Mendoza and Bill Tuckness, Pete and Patricia Bastardo, Minnie and Kenny Peterson, all of Brownwood.  She is also survived by her brother; Encarnacion Garcia of Balch Springs, TX and a sister; Oralia Alvarado of Brownsville, TX.  Frances is survived by seven grandchildren; Roger Rodriguez Jr., Rick Rodiguez, Leticia Ortega, Victor Mendoza Jr., Jacob Bastardo, Nick Ledsome, and Lerin Pena, ten great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren, and a number of nieces and nephews.  Her family at St. Mary’s and the Retirement Village were all dear friends to her and she cherished their friendship.

Frances was preceded in death by her husband, Pedro Bastardo, three infant children, a sister, and three brothers.
