FOX Sports Southwest will host a live benefit during the September 13 Cleveland Indians-Texas Rangers telecast to raise funds for the Shannon Stone Memorial Fund.

Fans will have an opportunity during the telecast to bid on several one-of-a-kind sports and entertainment packages provided by FOX Sports Southwest and participating sponsors. Proceeds from the in-game telethon will be donated to the fund established by the Texas Rangers Baseball Foundation in honor of Shannon Stone, the Brownwood, Texas firefighter who passed away from injuries suffered in a tragic accident July 7 at Rangers Ballpark in Arlington.

“We want to respectfully honor the memory of Shannon Stone,” said FOX Sports Southwest Senior Vice President/General Manager Jon Heidtke. “The outpouring of support for the Stone family from the community and our partners has been overwhelming. Everyone wants to comfort the family, but most people don’t know how they can help. We hope that through this benefit we’ll be able to provide a vehicle for fans and the community to participate.”

The auction will be part of the game telecast and will be hosted by Rangers Live anchor John Rhadigan. He’ll provide updates throughout the night from the Ebbett’s Field suite at Rangers Ballpark in Arlington where local celebrities and FOX Sports Southwest volunteers will be taking bids.
