Four Howard Payne University women’s soccer players were named to the 2013 American Southwest Conference women’s soccer All-Conference teams, the ASC office announced Wednesday after a vote of the league’s head coaches.
FIRST TEAM ALL-CONFERENCE – Forward
Moving from the HPU defense to the offensive side this season, Stepanie Boggs led the team in goals scored with seven. She was named the American Southwest Conference Offensive Player of the Week after scoring the game tying goal versus then ranked #10 Hardin-Simmons. She also had two assists on the year.
THIRD TEAM ALL-CONFERENCE – Defender
Kassey Nix started all 17 matches for the Lady Jackets in the defensive unit. She scored two goals on 14 shots and was second on the team in minutes played at 1,458.
THIRD TEAM ALL-CONFERENCE – Forward
Taylor Bicknell was second on the team in goals scored with six. She recorded her first career hat trick versus the University of the Ozarks and was named the American Southwest Conference Offensive Player of the Week. She also had two assists on the year.
HONORABLE MENTION ALL-CONFERENCE – Midfielder
As a freshman, Marley Zochert started all 17 matches for the Lady Jackets. For her two goal performance versus Schreiner University, she was named the American Southwest Conference Offensive Player of the Week. She had four goals and one assist on the year.
