ChastityKingFour girls are seeking the title of Miss Brown County Fair Association for 2011, and one of these candidates will be crowned during the Brown County Youth Fair on Saturday, January 15th, 2011. The current Miss Brown County Fair Association is Danielle Denbow.

The contestants are as follows in random order:

Chastity Rene’ King, is the daughter of Jonathan and Rhonda King.  She has one younger brother, Jacob.  Chastity attends Zephyr High School and is a Junior this year where she participates in class activities.  She is involved in her community as a member of the Zephyr 4-H Club and the Zephyr Baptist Church.

At Zephyr ISD Chastity participates in Cross Country, Cheerleading, Basketball, Track, Golf, FFA Judging, and FCCLA activities.  Chastity has been involved in the Brown County Youth Fair since 2003 showing lambs and goats along with entries in Foods, Crafts, Canning and Clothing in the Home Economics Division.  She is involved in activities year round and manages a 3.0 GPA.

JordanCadenheadJordan Cadenhead is the daughter of Chris & Teresa Cadenhead and the granddaughter of Kenneth & Shirley Treadway and John & Gynger Cadenhead.  She is a senior at Early High School.  Jordan will be representing the Early FCCLA, Early FFA, and the Early 4-H as she runs for 2011 Brown County Youth Fair Queen.  Jordan has participated in almost every aspect of the Fair by showing pigs, horses, and steers in addition to taking part in many classes in the Homemaking Division such as clothing, crafts, food, and canning.

Not only is Jordan an Honor Student at Early, she is also an active member of several clubs and organizations including, but not limited to, Student Council, FCCLA, FFA, and 4-H, she was also peer nominated as Student Body Representative and Senior Class Representative.

After High School she plans to attend Texas Tech University and pursue a Bachelor’s of Science in Business and Marketing along with a minor in Spanish.  She also plans to return to Texas Tech shortly after graduation and attend law school.  Once she earns both degrees, she plans to practice law in Texas and open her own law firm.  She dreams of opening a center for abused teenagers and to provide tutoring services to struggling students.

RebeccaMcFarlandRebecca McFarland is the daughter of Zack McFarland of Priddy and Karen Pittman of May.  She is the granddaughter of Wayne and Lomah Pittman of May.

Rebecca, a seventeen-year-old high school senior, has attended May ISD since kindergarten.  Throughout her high school career, she has participated in cheerleading, cross country, basketball, track, band, beta club, one act play, and is active in her youth group at her church.  She is currently the vice-president of the May 4-H Club, a member of the May FFA, and serves as Senior Class President.

Rebecca has participated in the Brown County Youth Fair since 3rd grade, showing swine and entering in the foods and crafts divisions.  In the fall, Rebecca plans to attend Tarleton State University.  She is interested in majoring in pediatric nursing.

Keelee Allen, representing Bangs FFA, is the daughter of Jimane and Larry Allen of Bangs.  She is the granddaughter of Judy and Larry Allen of Bangs, Jimmy and Teresa Minica and the late Glenice Minica of Zephyr.  Keelee has been a lifelong resident of Brown County and is a member of the Bangs First Baptist Church.

KeeleeAllenKeelee has participated in the Brown County Youth Fair every year since 3rd Grade participating in the Market Goat division.  She has been active in the Bangs FFA for 3 years and has participated in the Jr. Creed Speaking, Sr. Chapter Conducting, Land Judging, Jr. Prepared Public Speaking and the Soil Stewardship Speaking Contest while currently serving as the chapter secretary.  At the state level, she has competed in Land Judging and Public Speaking Events.

At Bangs High School, Keelee is involved in National Honor Society and has competed at the regional level in informative Extemporaneous Speaking in the UIL contest.  Other activities in High School include varsity cheerleader, cross country, basketball and softball.  Last year she received the honor of being selected to the All American Cheer Team, Academic All District Basketball Team and First Team All District Softball Team.

These girls will be working hard to prove themselves on five levels:  Membership Sales, Poise & Appearance, Personality, Public Speaking, and their participation in the Youth Fair.  The winner, 1st runner up and 2nd runner up all will receive scholarships.

Membership sales by the Youth Fair Queen competition is the main fundraiser for the Brown County Fair Association and proceeds benefit the upkeep of facilities and enhancing the premium sale which will begin at 5:00 Saturday, January 15th.

Memberships are sold for $20/family and also entitle member families to eat free at the annual barbeque that is held during Rodeo Week in June.  Memberships are available now through the Friday of the Youth Fair, January 14th, 2011.
