On Tuesday, September 23rd, seven members of the BHS Jazz Band traveled to Stephenville High School to begin the audition process toward making the ATSSB All-State Jazz Band.
The students played 3 different styles of music, including Swing, Latin, and Jazz. In addition, students also performed an improvisational solo to a blues tune.
The following BHS students won a place in the ATSSB All Region Jazz Band:
• Eddie Mares – Jazz Guitar (Advanced to Area)
• Zach Ramos – Tenor Sax (Advanced to Area)
• Brady Taylor – Trombone
• Kalin Young – Alto SaxThis is the second year in a row that Eddie Mares has won the top Jazz Guitar in the Region.
