BISD Press Release – From Dr. Joe Young, Brownwood ISD Superintendent:
On January 31, I received a phone call from the Brownwood Police Department with disturbing and upsetting details concerning an alleged relationship between an employee and a 2014 graduate of Brownwood High School. In part because this alleged inappropriate relationship began while the student attended Brownwood High School, I immediately placed the employee on leave. The employee subsequently resigned on February 1 effective immediately.
The district has notified the State Board for Education Certification and is fully cooperating with law enforcement. Because this matter is the subject of an ongoing police investigation, I am unable to provide more detail. Anyone with information of this nature should immediately contact the Brownwood ISD or Brownwood Police Department.
