Brownwood News – State Commanders Mickey Carroll (LA) & Keith King (TX) presented the footstone of 1LT Parley M. Stearns (WWII), recovered in Brown County TX, to his daughter, Ruth Stearns Lecompte, at a ceremony conducted at VFW Post 4224 in Baker, LA on Sunday.
The footstone was recovered by the Brown County Sheriffs Office who contacted the Brown County Service Office for disposition. Brown County Service Officer, James Masters, coordinated with the VFW Post for the return of the footstone. Department Commander, Keith King, and his Chief of Staff, James Masters, transported the footstone to Baker, LA.
