Graveside Services for Florence Janell Rector, age 85, of Brownwood, will be at 3:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 1, 2015 at Pioneer Cemetery in Eastland County (5.1 mi. E of Cross Plains on Hwy 36) with Bro. Bill Slaymaker officiating. Visitation will be held Wednesday morning from 10-12 prior to graveside service at Blaylock Funeral Home.
Janell went to be with her Lord and Savior, Sunday, March 29, 2015 at a local nursing home. She was born to Rube Franklin and Oma (Duncan) Griffith, November 20, 1929 in Olney, Texas. She attended Austin Ave Church of Christ. Janell enjoyed singing at different churches in the community. She loved sewing, gardening, and eating fried catfish.
She leaves behind to cherish her memories her children, Janice Ann Broussard and husband Don of Pearland, Connie Irene Allen of Saginaw, Larry Buel Bowman and wife Shirley Ann of Bangs, Dennis Earl Bowman and wife Julie of San Angelo, Judy Kay Clark and husband Bobby of Beeville, John Robert Rector, III of Austin, Angela Diane Curbow and husband Gene of Zephyr, Jackie Wayne Rector and wife Barbara of Ft. Worth, Patricia Elaine Doyle and husband Chuck of Winchester, N.H.; 23 grandchildren; 39 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Arvie Buel Bowman; second husband, J.R. Rector, Jr.; 2 grandchildren, Wendi Clark of Judy and Bobby Clark, Jacob Allen of Jim Cody Allen; 6 brothers and sisters.
