2014_WSOC_All_Conf

The American Southwest Conference announced today the 2014 women’s soccer All-Conference lists and awards and Howard Payne had five players and a coach honored after a vote of the league’s head coaches.

Howard Payne interim coach Ben Bishop and Texas-Tyler coach Stefani Webb received ASC Co-Coach of the Year awards. In his first season, in a head coaching position, Bishop more than doubled HPU’s win total from last season from 4 to 10 wins and returned the team to the ASC Championship Tournament for just the third time in the programs history.

FIRST TEAM ALL-ASC – Marley Zochert
Marley scored two goals along with three assists and was among the leaders in minutes played on the team. Taking 33 shots, 18 on goal this season, both of her goals were game winners.

SECOND TEAM ALL-ASC – Lynsie Anderson
Lynsie anchored an HPU defense that recorded nine shutouts on the year. She also scored two goals and recorded three assists from the defender position.

SECOND TEAM ALL-ASC – Kelsie Piland
Kelsie led the Lady Jackets in goal with a 10-6 recorded. She had eight shutouts as a keeper this season and recorded 65 saves in 175 shots faced.

SECOND TEAM ALL-ASC – Courtney Turner
Playing in all 19 matches for HPU, Courtney scored four goals along with three assists. She scored the game winning goals versus LeTourneau and Ozarks.

THIRD TEAM ALL-ASC – Taylor Bicknell
Taylor led the team in goals with five along with two assists. Her 50 shots and 34 shots on goal were also team highs.
