Brownwood Fire Department responded to a kitchen fire at a residence in the 3800 block of Crestridge Thursday afternoon shortly after 4 PM.
According to BFD officials, a grease fire started in the kitchen as one of the residents was cooking and spread up the cabinet into the attic. The male resident of the home tried to carry the pan out of the house and suffered minor burns to his arms, according to responders on scene.Firefighters extinguished the fire and pulled some charred insulation out of the attic to insure that the fire would not reignite.
Guardian EMS responded to the scene and offered first aid. There were no patients transported to the hospital and no other injuries were reported.
Damage to the home was minimal, affecting only the kitchen and attic area according to responders on scene.
