Brownwood Fire Department was called to the scene of a house fire Saturday night in the 1800 block of Durham Avenue.

Firefighters were dispatched at approximately 9:20 p.m. to the report of a bedroom on fire.  The back of the home became fully engulfed as firefighters arrived on scene.

According to emergency responders, all occupants of the home escaped and no injuries were reported.   Smoke continued to pour out of the eaves of the home as the flames were extinguished and firefighters cut into the attic to make sure that the fire was out.  The home sustained significant interior damage.

Brownwood Fire Marshal Buddy Preston is investigating the cause of the fire.

Early Volunteer Fire Department assisted BFD.  Oncor Electric was called to the scene as well as City of Brownwood water department to cut off utilities.
