A mobile home was destroyed Sunday afternoon on Sandy Beach Road at the north part of Lake Brownwood with multiple volunteer fire departments responding.
The Lake Brownwood Bridge Volunteer Fire Department was called to the area to the report of a grass and mobile home fire around 5:35pm Sunday. Fire units from Bangs and North Lake Volunteer Fire Departments were called to assist. A boat sitting on a trailer was also destroyed by the fire, and foam was applied to the boat to suppress the flames. One propane tank briefly ignited according to firefighters on scene and was quickly extinguished.
Brownwood Fire Marshal Buddy Preston was called to investigate the fire and said that it began as a small grass fire and spread to the mobile home. Preston said that he will be investigating the specific cause of the fire.
The mobile home was a total loss and the fire charred the ground surrounding the structure. No one was in the mobile home at the time of the fire and no injuries were reported.
