Chief Del Albright announced his retirement from the Brownwood Fire Department this morning after accepting a position with the City of Murphy as Fire Chief, according to Murphy City Manager Michael Castro.
“It’s an opportunity that presented itself to him, and it’s just a great fit. We’re happy for him,” said Brownwood City Manager, Emily Crawford. “It was just announced, so Chief Albright and I will sit down together soon and begin planning the next steps.”
Chief Albright has been serving as the Fire Chief and Emergency Management Coordinator in Brownwood since 2006. Chief Albright will officially begin his duties in Murphy on December 5, 2016.
