Organizers are busy getting set for holiday fun this week as the Spirit of Christmas Lighted Parade and the Christmas Under the Stars Festival get underway in just days.

Christmas decorations and lights began going up across Brownwood on Wednesday as part of the preparation.  The Brownwood Fire Department hung lighted star displays on light poles in Downtown Brownwood while Brownwood Area Chamber of Commerce volunteers put together decorations and lights for the weekend festival in the Depot Plaza.

The Spirit of Christmas Lighted Parade sponsored by Southside Church will start after 6pm on Thursday, December 1st and travel through Downtown Brownwood featuring lighted floats and vehicles, costumed characters, marching bands, and more.

The Christmas Under the Stars Festival sponsored by the Brownwood Chamber and KTAB News will take place on Friday, December 2nd and Saturday, December 3rd from 4-8pm each night at the Depot Plaza and Lehnis Railroad Museum.  The event will feature kid’s activities, live entertainment, competitions, food, and much more.  Visit BrownwoodChamber.org for a full schedule of events.
