Early Chamber of Commerce will host a retirement reception for Wanda Furgason on Friday, April 10th from 3:00 – 4:30 p.m. in the Bill King Conference Room at the Early Chamber of Commerce.
Furgason has worked for the Early Chamber of Commerce for nine years. She began this new position on March 6, 2006, only three days after retiring from a 30 year career with JCPenney.
Chamber officials stated that Furgason is looking forward to some leisure time and taking extended trips to see all of her grandchildren. She has six children, thirteen grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
“Since they each live in different areas of Texas,” Furgason said, “I will get to do lots of traveling and sightseeing along the way.”
Of her time spent working with the Early Chamber, Furgason stated “I have learned so much by being a part of the Early community and will miss being among all the friendly folks.”
Officials from the Early Chamber and the City of Early thanked Furgason for her dedication and years of service to the Early Chamber of Commerce and the Early Economic Development Corporation.
