District Attorney, Micheal Murray, reported that several felony cases were recently heard in Brown/Mills County District Court, Judge Stephen Ellis Presiding.

  • Laura Suzanne Weaver pled guilty to the three separate felony offenses of Forgery and was sentenced to Fifteen (15) Years, Texas Department of Criminal Justice, Institutional Division.
  • Joseph Johston pled no contest to the felony offense of Aggravated Sexual Assault and was sentenced to Twelve (12) Years Texas Department of Criminal Justice, Institutional Division.
  • Harvey Ray Curry, plead guilty to the felony offense of Possession of Child Pornography and was sentenced to Ten (10) Years, Texas Department of Criminal Justice, Institutional Division and the offense of Promotion of Child Pornography and was sentenced to Twenty (20) years, Texas Department of Criminal Justice, Institutional Division.
  • Edward Salazar pled guilty to the offense of Assault Family Violence-Enhanced and was sentenced to Ten (10) Years, Texas Department of Criminal Justice, Institutional Division.
  • Bobby Glen Harwell, IV pled guilty to the felony offense of Burglary of a Building and was sentenced to Seven (7) Years, Texas Department of Criminal Justice, Institutional Division.
  • Victor Gutierrez Bastardo, Sr. pled guilty to the felony offense of Possession of a Controlled Substance with Intent to Deliver and was sentenced to Five (5) Years, Texas Department of Criminal Justice, Institutional Division.
  • Brian Bilbrey, on probation for the felony offense of Assault with Injury-Family Violence, was revoked and sentenced to Five (5) Years, Texas Department of Criminal Justice, Institutional Division.
  • Leonel Villarreal, on probation for the felony offense of Driving While Intoxicated, was revoked and sentenced to Five (5) Years, Texas Department of Criminal Justice, Institutional Division.
  • Misty Hamilton, on probation for the felony offense of Tampering with a Governmental Record, was adjudicated and sentenced to Five (5) Years, Texas Department of Criminal Justice, Institutional Division.  Further Hamilton pled guilty to the state jail felony offense of Delivery of a Controlled Substance and was sentenced to Nine (9) Months, Texas Department of Criminal Justice, State Jail Division.
  • Roy Shannon, on probation for the felony offense of Possession of a Controlled Substance was revoked and sentenced to Five (5) Years, Texas Department of Criminal Justice, State Jail Division.
  • Justin Alan Phipps pled guilty to the felony offense of Delivery of a Controlled Substance-Drug Free Zone and was sentenced to Five (5) Years, Texas Department of Criminal Justice, Institutional Division.  Further Phipps pled guilty to the felony offense of Delivery of a Controlled Substance and was sentenced to Six (6) Months, Texas Department of Criminal Justice, State Jail Division.
  • Jefferson Lynn Powell pled guilty to the felony offense of Driving While Intoxicated and was sentenced to Four (4) Years, Texas Department of Criminal Justice, Institutional Division.
  • Nicholas Smith, on probation for the felony offense of Possession of a Controlled Substance, was adjudicated and sentenced to Four (4) Years, Texas Department of Criminal Justice, Institutional Division.
  • Roberto Sanchez pled guilty to the felony offense of Possession of Marijuana-Drug Free Zone was sentenced to Three (3) Years, Texas Department of Criminal Justice, Institutional Division.
  • Jerry Ramirez pled guilty to the felony offense of Possession of Marijuana and was sentenced to Three (3) Years, Texas Department of Criminal Justice, Institutional Division.
  • Clayton Dale Wilkins pled guilty to the felony offense of Tampering with or Fabricating Physical Evidence and was sentenced to Three (3) Years, Texas Department of Criminal Justice, Institutional Division.
  • Glen Edward Moore pled guilty to the felony offenses of Forgery and Possession of a Controlled Substance and was sentenced to Two (2) Years, Texas Department of Criminal Justice, Institutional Division.
  • Laura Roberson, on probation for two separate felony offenses of Forgery, was adjudicated and sentenced to Twelve (12) Months, Texas Department of Criminal Justice, State Jail Division in each case.
  • Ricardo Sanchez, on probation for the felony offense of Possession of a Controlled Substance was revoked and sentenced to twelve (12) Months, Texas Department of Criminal Justice, State Jail Division.
  • Jon Alan Brooks pled guilty to the felony offense of Theft-Enhanced and was sentenced to Ten (10) Months, Texas Department of Criminal Justice, State Jail Division.
  • Sergio Castillo, on probation for the felony offenses of Burglary of a Building and Theft over $1500 under $20,000, was revoked and sentenced to Ten (10) Months, Texas Department of Criminal Justice, State Jail Division.
  • Terry Jane Justice, on probation for the felony offense of Credit Card Abuse was revoked and sentenced to Nine (9) Months, Texas Department of Criminal Justice, State Jail Division.
