EvettsFeliciaFelicia Anne Evetts was born October 6, 1966, in Alvarado, Texas, to Shirley and Randall Ward. Throughout her childhood, she was active in both school and community activities. Felicia graduated as Valedictorian of her class and accumulated many educational and athletic awards during her tenure at Lometa High School. She graduated magna cum laude from Howard Payne University with a Bachelors of Business Administration/Accounting. She later attended Tarleton State University graduating summa cum laude with a Masters of Science Information Systems, and she was also a member of the Delta Mu Delta Honor Society. Her greatest joy came from her years working in public education. Teaching courses ranging from general computer use to advanced robotics programming or coaching UIL activities including One Act Play, she was dedicated to helping engage students to their fullest potential. Her teaching philosophy states “My ultimate goal as a teacher is to teach kids how to think not what to think.”

When she was not at work with her students, Felicia was focused on her family. Felicia
met her soulmate shortly after high school, and married Donald Evetts, Jr. on April 18, 1986.
The couple recently celebrated their 30th anniversary. Her children will always fondly remember the special time they shared with her. From sit down dinners to taking the grandkids for the weekend, it was not rare to be surprised in the early morning hours by a phone call for a spur of the moment trip to a Rangers game or with tickets to Six Flags later that same day. She was her children’s biggest fan and could always be found in the bleachers, stadium, auditorium or venue cheering their successes. She loved the ocean. She was a devout believer in our Savior and Lord Jesus Christ and a staunch defender of the Bible.

Felicia is survived by her husband, Donald Gene Evetts, Jr. of Brownwood? four sons,
