Funeral services for Federico Garcia Yanez, age 97, of Brownwood, will be held at 2:00 PM, Saturday, January 10, 2015 in the Heartland Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Greenleaf Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6:00 until 7:00 Friday evening.
Mr. Yanez died Wednesday, January 7, 2015 at his home.
Federico Garcia Yanez was born on Nov. 9, 1917 in Saltillo, Coahuila, Mexico to Federico and Jovita Garcia Yanez. He married Concepcion Ochoa. Federico retired as a custodian for Brownwood Independent School District. He enjoyed reading and watching sports. Federico was a member of Primera Iglesia Baustista.
Federico is survived by his daughter, Tammy Yanez of Brownwood, a grandson, Christian Arredondo of Austin, and a sister, Berta Yanez of Saltillo.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, three sisters, and two brothers.
